Operations: email, an MCP server and a mini CRM

Connect your mini company to real people and let Claude help run it, with you approving anything that leaves the building.

The brief

Your sign-ups, readers and players are real people now. Build the operation that keeps track of them and talks to them. Then give Claude the tools to help you run it.

Why this matters

This is the step from using AI to building with it. An MCP server is a small program that lets Claude read and act on your own data: your sign-ups, your content calendar, your CRM. Once you’ve built one, you’ll see opportunities for them everywhere at work.

Where to start

Map before you build. Ask Claude to list every place a person touches your mini company and what each touch should trigger. Pick the one loop that matters most, usually “someone signs up, they get a welcome, you get a record”.

Build that loop end to end. Then add the next one.

Let it draft the email. You press send. Give AI room to work and keep the irreversible steps for yourself.

What your reviewer will look for

These come up in almost every review of this module. Get ahead of them.

  • Connecting everything at once instead of one loop at a time.
  • Giving AI permission to send without a human check.
  • Not knowing what data you actually have.

Submit for review

Fill this in, copy it, and post it in the cohort channel. Reviews focus on your process as much as the result, so be honest about where you got stuck.
